Little things about Boat Races

Boat Races are the heritage symbol of Kerala culture. In Kerala, during an early 13th-century war between the feudal kingdoms of Kayamkulam and Chembakassery, King Devanarayana of Chembakassery commissioned the construction of a war boat called Chundan Vallam and he tasked a famous carpenter of the day with the responsibility of creating it. Hence, the technical methods for creating these Snake Boats are around 650 years old.Boat Races are mainly conducted on onam festival season.

"E-Waste Everest"

At the present era science and technology moves fast towards their heights . New invention make their the world
better but it harms the strategy of nature, through pollution called e-waste .
Human depend electronic devices even for their simple needs. As a result the number of electronic devices are increasing uncontrollably . It makes the future unpredictable. 'Use and throw' culture of new generation is at its peak point. They want the latest things around them. When there is any modification in the electronic world ,they simply give up their old devices and turn forward to most modern . The people never try to repair their faulty devices , because the repairing charge of old devices almost same as the cost of new one . So they surely bought new device instead of repairing the old one. Cost of electronic devices become cheaper , this is the factor which helped quick elaboration of e-world.
Tons of e-waste are created everyday .We never found a practical method to dispose the e-waste .So the these unwanted devices dumped in some specific spaces . Thousands of “ E-waste Everest ” are already created all over the world . Most of the electronic circuits are made up of poisonous chemicals like mercury , silica etc . These e-wastes contaminate the soil . It decreases the fertility of earth . If the current situation is continuing the earth will lost her ability to produce nature elements.
So we should take this problem as a great issue , we have the responsibility to aware others about the harmful effects of e-waste . Come and join , let us save our mother earth from e-wastes.

Darkness is not the end

This photo is taken from rural road in Kuttanad.
The theme in the picture is that a hopeful light is always in the midst of sorrowful darkness. So the mankind must wait and search for the leading light.

Say No! to child labour

In India thousands of children are compelled to labour. Most of them are orphans. They are often faces mental and physical torture from others. Overburdened, debt-trapped parents fail to understand the importance of a normal childhood under the pressures of their own troubles and thus it leads to the poor emotional and mental balance of a child’s brain which is not prepared to undertake rigorous field or domestic tasks. Childhood is the time for study and play, unfortunately child workers have lost their colourful period in their life.
Indian constitution have many acts against child labour and through the RTE (Right to Education) Act law provides compulsory and free education to children between 6 and 14 . But these laws are not correctly followed by the society. Unfortunately, the concerned authorities are unable to combat the rising cases of child labour because of varied reasons. They fail to establish the correct age if the child due to the lack of birth proofs and at times fake proofs. Not much is being done on creating the awareness among people. Even if efforts are being made, they cater to a limited population and the endurance among the authorities is not visible. A lot of laxity can be observed during the conduct of awareness programmes. There is still a need to address the issue on global platforms time and again with stringent policy framework in place.
